Kermit and Ms Piggy Split Sets the Tone for the New Muppets Series

muppets-1024Kermit the Frog has officially moved on. After he and Miss Piggy called it ended their relationship last month, he has seemingly found love again with another pig, Denise, from marketing.

Apparently, Kermit has been spotted around town on multiple occasions with Denise, a source told People.

“She’s always stopping by the set of ‘Up Late,’” the source said. “He calls her his girlfriend.”

It appears things are getting pretty serious. But Miss Piggy, being the strong, independent woman she is, is totally fine. In fact, she may have even found her own rebound boyfriend in the form of Miley Cyrus’ ex, Liam Hemsworth.

The two sparked relationship rumors after Hemsworth shared an Instagram photo (his first ever) of him and Piggy, with the caption, “Spent Friday with the most beautiful girl in the world. Kermit, #SorryNotSorry.”

Hemsworth is set to appear on “The Muppets” this fall, Entertainment Weekly reports. And the source who spoke to People has confirmed Denise will also make an appearance. The show will be a “more adult” show shot in a mockumentary style similar to The Office.

This continues from the original Muppet Show was a comedy variety and ran for five seasons from 1976–1981. The Muppets have been experiencing a revival latelyy with Jason Segel’s 2011 Muppets movie, which referred a lot to the Muppets long absence and Muppets Most Wanted with comedian Ricky Gervais. The new Muppet Show will be written by Bill Prady and Bob Kushell who will also be executive producers. “The Muppets” series premieres on Sept. 22 on ABC.
