The Best Dishes From France

When you think of French dishes, do you think immediately of Escargot and croissants?

Besides eating baguettes and sipping on coffee, the French actually have a variety of great foods that everyone should check out.

Baked Camembert

A creamy baked cow’s milk cheese. It’s delicious with red wine.

Also known as onion soup, it has a crunchy baked crust and it takes like a smooth pudding.

It has two layers of mashed potatoes and with a layer of ground beef in the middle.

It’s raw and you eat it with an raw egg. It’s delicious and fresh and you don’t have to think about what you’re eating.


It’s kind of like ratatouille but it has onions and peppers. It’s also baked in with a few eggs.

Magret de Canard

It’s like steak, but it’s duck breast, and it tastes especially delicious when it’s bloody.


This duck and beans stew is extremely heartwarming and delicious.

Pan-seared Foie Gras

the way they make foie gras is awful, but the dish is too addicting to not try.


You may know it from the classic Disney movie, but it’s actually a great dish to try full of flavourful veggies.


There’s mashed potatoes and melted cheese and garlic. It’s such a comfort food for those bummy days.

Gratin Dauphinois

An authentic gratin dauphinois doesn’t have any cheese. It is just made of sliced potatoes baked in milk, or cream. The preparation is easy and the result always satisfying.
